Sunken Yacht
The Merrimac found her way onto the shores of Sable Island in July of 1999. Its been said that the shifting sands of Sable "swallows its victims".
These photos were taken over the span of a few days. According to the people on Sable Island, the Merrimac ran aground on a relatively calm night en route to Europe from the northeastern United States. The crew walked ashore and apparently had no idea where there were.
A popular theory is that the autopilot was driven by the GPS and sailed a great-circle route, which took the Merramac to more northerly latitude than inte
