The life of a beggar on the streets of Denver is cruel, boring and heartbreaking. Many of these beggars, are drug addicts with experience, who are stuck in a vicious circle: they are on the street for 12 hours to buy a dose of heroin, which will allow them to hold out for another 12 hours. Angel Gembok was one of those who are stuck in a horrible and seemingly endless circle. Young, once a promising girl from Wisconsin came to to with hopes to live a happy life Denver. But, after a failed attempt to start a new life with her boyfriend she began to take drugs. Photographer Joe Amon took to the streets of Denver, along with Angel and saw how harsh life of drug addict is.
